Choosing a modern acrylic frame for your photos and prints means you have a chic and minimalist addition for your photo wall. The last step is installation. Then comes the practical part: how to install it on the wall without it looking crooked. Once you have the right instructions, it is a pretty simple and straight forward process. The rest of this article explains how to do this. Remember to prioritize going slow and being cautious to avoid damaging the frame. Installing wall mounted acrylic photo frames correctly ensures they look their best.

Before you get the acrylic frame out of the packaging, you have to prepare all of your tools. This way, you will not have to stop the job sludge because you do not have something. Use the following list to guide you to prepare for your job:
A pencil for making the job look professional.
A tape measure for measuring the right distance for the frame.
A level to keep the frame hanging straight.
A Phillips Head Drill to install the wall anchors.
A hand drill to drill the wall anchors (You will need a drill bit guide to keep the holes aligned to your wall type. Wall types include drywall, plaster, and brick.
The number of wall anchors and screws included with your frame should be sufficient for its weight.
A clean, dry cloth with no lint.
A bit of blue painter's tape.
Gathering all your materials means you won't need to stop and search for anything mid-way through.
While acrylic is quite sturdy, it is still susceptible to scratching, so choose a clean, dry, and soft surface to unpack your frame. A soft mat or a table covered with a towel should work. Now carefully unpack your frame and any protective wrap. Acrylic sheets will almost always arrive with a protective cover for both front and back to avoid scratches, and you should keep this protective cover on through the installation process to maintain the acrylic's perfect condition. Don't peel the cover yet! take a moment, and then you can peel. It is a good idea to keep the sheet on the back of the acrylic for the duration of your installation. Inspect the frame and all its other components. Make sure that you have also received the backboard, if there is one, and that you have received all of the mounting components. Right away, contact your manufacturer if anything appears to be damaged or missing. There is no reason to rely on a manufacturer's defect to arrive in perfect condition, especially, for a good company like XYBP, with its many years of experience and strong quality controls, that is likely to be the case.
First, take your frame (with the protective film still on) and hold it against the wall where you want to place it. If possible, take a couple steps back to view it from different angles. This will help you determine the best lighting, height, and positioning among other decor around the frames. The general rule is to place the center of the frame at eye level. After you find the perfect position, use a pencil to make top corner guides on the wall. This will help ensure you place the frame correctly. When it comes to a single frame, this is fast and easy. Gallery walls take time and measuring, but the effort will be well worth it.
To make sure your frame is leveled, look for the hanging hardware glued at the frame's backside. It could be either a sawtooth hanger, a couple of keyhole slots, or even D-rings. You need to find out how far apart the hanging hardware is. For example, between your frame's keyhole slots, how far is it in the frame?
Once you have the measurements, go back to the wall. Find the top marks you made previously to be the top of the frame, then measure down to the hardware. Use your level to draw a very faint line for the rest of the row of holes. Then, using the spacing you measured off the back of the frame, mark the holes where the screws will go. Finally, double-check the measurements. It is far less tiresome to measure three times and drill once. Use a small piece of painter's tape to mark your holes instead of a pencil.
Let's get to drilling. Pick a drill bit that matches the size of the wall anchors you're using. Drill carefully into the marked locations. If you find a stud, that's great; you can screw right into it. Most of the time, however, you're drilling into drywall or something like it. For those, you need to use the wall anchors that you've brought with you. Insert the wall anchors into the holes. You may need to use a hammer to get the wall anchors flush with the wall. Once the wall anchors are set, partially screw the screws into the wall anchors so that the screw heads are sticking out around 3-5 mm. That gap is called the screw gap, and that's what the frame will hang on to. Check level on the screws by laying a spirit level across the tops of both screws.
Your screws are in place and it's time to see what you've got! First, let's see what it looks like with the frame still protected. Lift the frame and align the hanging hardware on the rear with the screws. Before you let it go, take a minute to step back and see what you think. Use a spirit level to see if the top edge is level. If it's tilted you can make the frame level by tapping the bottom corner or adjusting the screws. If you are satisfied with the frame level and position, you can gradually tighten the screws to secure, but be careful not to make it overly tight.
Here comes the fun part! Carefully take the frame off from the wall. Place it on your soft surface. Now, it's time to take off the protective plastic cover. For the film that is stuck, use a piece of tape on the edge. To avoid fingerprints, handle the acrylic by the edges. Next, place your photo or print in the frame following the instructions. For some frames, the photo and backboard go in the sandwich, while others have a specific opening. After putting the photo in place, re-hang the frame on the wall. Now, take your cloth that does not leave lint and use it to clean the acrylic surface. Be sure to use light pressure and clean in a circular motion. To avoid damage to the acrylic surface, avoid all household glass cleaners. Water on a cloth and a specialist plastic cleaner is the best option.
